Sheppard is a bright and "chill" four-year-old battling Leukemia. In late 2024 he began having issues with energy and appetite. Although these symptoms seemed light and common for kids, his family made sure he was able to have further testing and on January 2nd, 2025, he was diagnosed. Despite the overwhelming nature of the diagnoses, he was given a very positive outlook with a strong chance of full recovery. His treatment plan spans about 3 years with the first year being the toughest. He is now in remission and in the maintenance phase of treatment getting stronger and better every day. This journey has been challenging, and he has had to adapt quite a bit, but Sheppard's spirit remains strong and his personality remains bright and cheerful. He finds joy in simple meaningful things like playing with trains, cars, and matchbox toys. He loves to read and spend time with friends and family. The family recently welcomed a rescue dog named Cosmo who brings daily joy. Despite this horrendous battle Sheppard remains resilient, courageous, and strong beyond his years. Parker Project relieved the family of a few medical bills to create space and stability for joy. We are happy to be a small part of Sheppard's amazing journey; no family should face this alone. Be a guiding light for kids like Sheppard.
Natalia is a bubbly little superhero from Arizona. She loves to dance to K-Pop, play the piano, and spend time with her new dog Waffles who has brought a lot of comfort for her recently. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at just 3 years old. Despite the doctors dismissing her pain, mom pushed for further testing resulting in this treacherous diagnosis. She started chemotherapy right away and as of the beginning of April 2026 she entered the maintenance phase. She is currently immuno-compromised, but her hair has grown back beautifully, she loves to play with it. She eats every few hours, especially making her own charcuterie boards. Due to treatment Natalia's mom has not been able to work. Parker Project helped the family with housing and utility bills. Natalia and the family still have a long bumpy road ahead on this journey, but they remain hopeful, grateful, and resilient through it all. We are grateful to have the opportunity to learn about Natalia and be able to lighten the burden her family has. Every moment her parents don't spend stressing about bills is a moment they can spend with her.
Madeline is a tough cookie from Arizona. She is nine years old and the princess of the castle, she is the only girl in the family and the middle child. She loves makeup and is always asking for an upgraded vanity to practice her looks. Her favorite show is Descendants on Disney. She has always been an outgoing helper to everyone. Before her cancer diagnosis Madeline was already dealing with a different genetic diagnosis. Right before school started last August a routine eye exam turned macabre. Doctors were concerned with something unusual in her optic nerve, it was enlarged with either fluid or a tumor. By the next day, her family was told that she needed immediate surgery to remove the tumor and biopsy it. Madeline spent months in the hospital and during that time her father lost his job, although mom was still able to work, her income was not enough to support the family. Her father got another job eventually but was then hurt on the job, affecting their income once again. Madeline is in homebound school where a teacher comes once a week to teach her. Although her journey has been complicated and ever-changing Madeline remains positive and a true princess through it all. The family is young and hardworking and have been through too much this year, but they try to keep their normalcy and have hopes of a bright future ahead. Madeline's parents are beautiful examples of resilience and great parents. Parker Project has had the joy of assisting them with housing costs so they can focus on treatment and healing for the entire family.
